Acute 2 Root™ Foundations Team

Raquel Harrison, MD, FACEP, dipABLM

Chief Medical Officer, Acute 2 Root Foundations

I have been an Emergency Physician for over 13 years and after seeing the impact of how lifestyle choices can acutely or over time bring people to the Emergency Department, I decided to pursue a board certification in Lifestyle Medicine as well. Out of a desire to do medicine differently and more relationally, Acute 2 Root was developed.

I do my best to balance life with priorities. I’m a Christian, wife, and mother of three little girls. Although faith and family take precedent, I’m on a mission to transform the health perspectives of individuals and root them in principles that equip decisions to build optimal self-care. I have a passion to teach others how to reframe the way they think about moment-to-moment decisions and how that reframing can lead to thriving with a an emphasis on prevention and potentially reversal of acute and chronic disease.

Anne Marie Fayen

Chief Operating Officer, Acute 2 Root Foundations

I enjoy the challenge of designing learning experiences outside of traditional school environments  For the past 16 years, I have guided others through the process of teaching and learning in a variety of settings. I began teaching third grade and then transitioned into museum education where I led programming at The Field Museum in Chicago, the Perot Museum of Nature & Science in Dallas, and the Dallas Arboretum.

I now work as an independent consultant specializing in helping solopreneurs and small businesses manage their online businesses and build effective and engaging online courses.

I stay connected to science education by partnering with documentary production teams and nonprofits to create resources that engage learners in nature-based content and amplify each organization’s message.

Since becoming a distance runner in middle school, I have been curious about how my health impacts my body’s function and performance. That curiosity has led me to try a wide variety of strategies to live a healthy life. Lifestyle Medicine has given me a framework to organize all the pieces of healthy living I have learned over the years, as well as new knowledge, grounded in current research.  I am excited to be working with Acute 2 Root to share the wisdom and knowledge of Lifestyle Medicine with a broad audience.
